Geysers account for an average of 40% of household electricity costs.
With relatively low costs, immediate and significant savings potential, Solar Water Heaters can ‘pay for themselves’ within 3-5 years, making this technology a more-than-feasible investment.
With ever rising electricity costs, you cannot afford to be without a Solar Water Heater. Solarise offers a wide range of solar water heaters, from traditional flat plate technology, to the more advanced Vacuum Tube systems, as well as both High Pressure and Low Pressure systems.
High pressure systems generally fall within the range of 400-600kPa, and are the most popular systems used in the domestic household. Installed with controllers/timers, these systems are optimized to help you save energy and to ensure a consistent hot water supply by combining the use of solar energy as well as electricity.

The Eskom Rebate FAQ:
Which of your systems qualify for a rebate?
Solarise is an accredited supplier on the Eskom Rebate Programme, and is a part of the Solar Distributors Africa network. We have a wide selection of qualifying systems available- including both high pressure and low pressure systems, as well as Vacuum Tube or Flat Plate technology. It is not about which system is better, but which system better suits your needs. Contact a Solarise consultant today- we have the system you need!
Do retro-fit systems qualify for a rebate?
A retrofit system is a solar system that upgrades existing/older geysers to solar. Some retrofit systems do qualify for a rebate, however, not everyone would be eligible. The existing geyser has to be of a specific make/brand, and the existing element needs to be replaced with a new, smaller element. This may not always be a best solution, especially for geysers that are older (more than 5 years). Solarise offers both rebate applicable retrofit systems, as well as non-rebate retrofit systems. Again, different homes will have different needs, and our consultants are standing by to offer you the best recommendations and solutions to suit your particular needs.
Who handles the rebate process?
Deloitte & Touche is the company directly responsible for processing the rebate payments. The appropriate forms are provided to the client by the accredited supplier, which is sent to Deloitte. Processing is generally 5-8 weeks, and the rebate is directly transferred into the client’s bank account. The process is surprizingly simple.
Does a higher rebate amount mean a better system?
While this may be true on some systems, it is often not the case. The rebate is calculated based on the system’s efficiency, capacity, and price. A 300L system would typically have a higher rebate amount than a 200L system. Even though the 200L system may have a lower rebate amount, it may be more suited to most households of 2-4 people. It is not about which system is better, but which system better suits you. Some systems have large tanks on the roof, while others do not. Some systems work better on cloudy days, some better on sunny days. As a general rule of thumb: Look for the system that suits your needs first, and consider the Eskom rebate as the bonus ‘cherry on top.’
